Enrico Maestrini "art"

Enrico Maestrini was born in 1954 and soon accrued an interest for arts. He visited museums and studied on the most authoritative books.

He dedicated himself to acting for 30 years, and founded a school. He took an interest in Yoga and Oriental philosophies, and visited many times Asian Countries. He began collecting art in the end of the Seventies, developing a particular taste in the so called works of art.

"I have always been curious and impressed by those phenomena which bind everyday life to art. I like that kind of art which testifies of everyday life and customs even of the poorest social classes or the most remote populations. It seems to me it's a necessary form of art."

Since 2013 sculpts using roots, woods, found and recycled objects.

Bibliography:

I shall be brief, even if I could fill hundreds of pages about this topic. I would like to list the most significant texts which guided me through the construction of my collections.

The most interesting book dealing with the theme of history of art is the one by Argan, a fascinating personality who I followed as long as he was alive. In particular I suggest the volume on modern art
Giulio Cesare Argan "L'arte moderna 1770/1970" Sansoni editore
Arnold Hauser "Storia sociale dell'arte" Einaudi editore

Talking about Chinese art, I take as a reference the books edited by the museum of Beijing, in particular the six volumes dealing with ceramics:
"The complete collection of Tresaures of the Palace Museum" The Commercial Press (Hong Kong)
A complete guidebook about ceramics is:
He Li "Chinese Ceramics - The new standard guide" Thames and Hudson
For modern ceramics (20th Century)
Mei Guojian "20 Century's Chinese traditional Jun porcelain" Cultural relics publishing house

The publications from the "Museo del Castello Sforzesco" and "Poldi Pezzoli di Milano" are quite interesting books dealing with works of art.

I consider very useful and professional the catalogus from the auctions in various areas of interest by Sotheby's, Christies, Nagel and Lempertz.
